Spain – Packaging waste and plastic tax, news and obligations – Webinar February 7, 2023
In Spain, the Circular Economy Law Regulations were published on December 28, 2022. The regulations provide for a transition period to allow companies to adapt to the new requirements. During 2023, companies introducing products subject to the new circular economy scheme will have to take the necessary measures to adapt to the new situation.
With regard to the Plastic Tax, Law 7/2022 lacks specificity regarding the objective scope of products that may be subject to this new tax. However, on December 30, the Orden de aprobación del Modelo 592 for the settlement of the tax was published.
The first tax payment must be made in April 2023.
In order to illustrate the obligations that Italian operators operating in Spain are or will be required to comply with, the Economic Area is organizing, in collaboration with Confindustria Alto Milanese and Confindustria Mantova.
